Michael received his Bachelors of Music Therapy from Loyola University, New Orleans and his Master of Social Work from the University of Houston. He holds his license in clinical social work, and is also a board-certified Music Therapist and a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner. His experience includes inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy, and providing psychiatric evaluations for physicians in Emergency Rooms/Medical Hospitals .
He specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, relationship problems, and eating disorders. He also provides continuing education and training for agencies who work with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) clients and their families. His research interests include male eating disorders, the impact of social policy on LGBT mental health, and the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy with families.
Michael equips his clients to creatively solve problems while also finding the inspiration to grow personally and spiritually. He helps his clients overcome depression, anxiety/worry, substance abuse issues, eating disorders, professional issues and relationship problems.
Michael offers treatment methods tailored to your needs and the goals you would like to accomplish. Strategies include cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy, family-systems therapy, coping skills development and life coaching. He also offers flexible scheduling for working adults and adolescents attending school, with availablility including evenings and weekends.

Sliding Scale Rates Are Available
Individual Psychotherapy is provided at a rate of $75 - $100 for a 50 minute session
Couples Therapy is provided at a rate of $120 - $150 per couple for a 50 minute session
Group Psychotherapy is provided at a rate of $75 per 50 minute session, or $95 for a 90 minute session
